Aamir Khan‘s Dangal was one of the most exciting films of the year. When it released, people loved the movie and it lived up to everyone’s expectations. By the end of 4 days, Dangal has already grossed Rs 250 crore in the worldwide market and even broken 7 records. However, it hasn’t gone on a record breaking spree like Salman Khan‘s Sultan. If you don’t remember, Sultan had broken 35 records in its first weekend. Dangal is no where near it. In fact, Dangal has actually failed to break many records. Highest occupancy of 2016
Dangal failed to beat Sultan. Aamir’s movie had opened with an occupancy of 60-70 per cent, compared to Sultan’s opening day occupancy of 80-90 per cent.
Biggest opener of 2016
Dangal again failed to defeat Sultan as the biggest opener of 2016. Sultan had collected Rs 36.54 crore on day 1 as compared to Dangal’s Rs 29.78 crore.
Highest opening day collection ever
As we told you, Dangal managed to collect Rs 29.78 crore on day one. This is way lesser than the opening day collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s Happy New Year (Rs 44.97 crore).
Highest overseas opener
Aamir Khan’s movie opened well at the overseas market. It collected Rs 11.41 crore on day 1, however it couldn’t cross the highest overseas opening day collection of Dilwale (Rs 22.61 crore).
Highest opening day collection for a sports based films
Aamir Khan’s Dangal couldn’t become the highest opener for a sports based film. The record is still held by Salman Khan’s Sultan (Rs 36.54 crore).
Highest day 2 collection ever

Highest day 4 collection ever
Dangal earned Rs 25.48 crore on day 4. Once again it failed to match up to Sultan‘s day 4 collection of Rs 37.10 crore.
Highest 4-day collection
In 4 days, Dangal managed to collect Rs 132.43 crore. If you compare this to Sultan 4-day collection of Rs 142.62 crore, you will realise that it hasn’t been able to beat this record!
